The Tennis Committee oversees usage and activities of the tennis courts. Traditionally, the committee holds three tournaments for homeowners: Memorial Day weekend, mid-summer, and Labor Day weekend. The committee also monitors condition of the courts, recommends renovations, and oversees any contract work done to the courts. The committee enforces the Tennis Rules for court usage.
The courts are available to all Knolls homeowners during times when teams, leagues, tournaments, or social tennis activities are not taking place. Traditionally, adults are given preference during the evening and weekend open hours. The Committee posts sign-up sheets weekly at the tennis hut.
Homeowners need a key to access the courts and ball machine. Keys are $5.00, available from Debbie Taylor or Betty Dysart. If you are moving out of the Knolls, please return your key to a member of the Tennis Committee.
The Committee organizes teams for summer leagues for men’s 3.0 and 4.0 and women’s 3.0 and 3.5. There are also daytime ladies’ doubles and men’s “super senior” teams. Men’s Monday Night Social Tennis is a long-time Knolls tradition. Planned for the 2006 season are Men’s and Women’s Senior teams and ladies’ social tennis.
